on the "health benefits of pastured eggs"!
Fruit of the Coop, LLC is a 7-acre farm located in the watershed of the Big Sioux River near Brandon, South Dakota. All the chickens in our flock are pasture-raised on natural grains and forage, which gives the yolks of their eggs a deep golden color, strong shells and higher nutritional value for the consumer. Our eggs can be purchased at Coffea Roasterie and Breadico Sourdough Bread Company and can be eaten at these restaurants: Morrie's Steakhouse, Grille 26, Minerva’s Restaurant, Parker’s Bistro, Breadico Sourdough Bread Company, the Sioux Falls Food Co-op, The Harvester Kitchen by Bryan, and Looks Marketplace We want to sell to chefs and restaurants who truly want a relationship with their farmer. We believe in bringing local food to Sioux Falls area establishments and helping to revitalize small and mid-level agriculture in rural economies and communities.
In my role as a local producer, I am an expert in chicken keeping and all things related to the processing and selling of eggs. In addition to teaching backyard chicken keeping classes throughout the region, I have advocated for local food systems and sustainable agriculture through my work with the Sioux Falls Food Council, the Sioux Falls Thrive Food Security Action Team, the City of Sioux Falls Sustainability Committee, the Sioux Falls Urban Agriculture Coalition, Dakota Rural Action and the National Family Farm Coalition.
What do I love as much as I love chickens? Farm life and opening up that experience to others - which we do through hosting guests in our farm-stay Airbnb, in addition to providing a camping experience for guests through the HipCamp platform. There are many ways to get closer to your food and nature. Let us help you do just that - whether through egg purchases, learning to keep your own chickens or joining us for a magical farm visit!
